Little Bits of Living

It's been 6 months since I moved back to my hometown from Dallas.

Tell ya what, plenty of signs that the right choice was made. Environmental stress is next to nothing - and that is my daily gratitude.

As far as routine, it's pretty fluid. I take the dogs out at 6:15 every morning. Then I slap on whatever workout clothes from the late '10s are clean and head to the most 90s gym in existence. It's everybody's small town gym. And just like the weight machines, I would change nothing.

There's a giant track in the middle of the gym, and strange faces are now familiar ones. It's refreshing to not start the day being inundated with news or vanilla corporate vernacular (I'll go to my death that it's the most unoriginal sub-slang and whoever keeps coining not-new words into phrases like "synergy..." straight to jail).

Instead, there are conversations around gardening, crops, who's having a yard sale over the weekend, and people things. Sports. School events. Concerts. The business of living instead of just getting through the day. It's heaven.

Something else sorely missing has been the desire to write. Again, when we make the right choices, the universe rewards us. Two projects in their early stages, both personal, a little eerie, and definitely funny.

This summer is getting packed already - I'll be sprinkling some good mojo on this sorely neglected blog. In the meantime, if you're feeling stressed at work or at home, turn the news off. Do at least one thing every day that gives you joy - whether it's a quiet cup of coffee, a peaceful walk, new hobby, etc.

Cheers!
